What in the world is Friday Delivers?
It was the Son of God that died that day of the week long ago. Some may dispute the day thing but it is generally the accepted day when Christ demonstrated His love for sinners and He fulfilled the will of His Father. Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried and rose again the third day, I Cor. 15:3. Freedom from the penalty of sin comes immediately for the person who puts faith in Christ and the Father transfers this repenting sinner from the Kingdom of Darkness to the Kingdom of His beloved Son.
What is the name of the road that the sinner must escape the deceptive clutches of sin on? Jesus spoke of two roads that mankind travel. He also spoke of two destinies. You can read it for yourself in Matthew seven. Most of humanity is on the road leading to destruction, Jesus said. A few find the narrow gate that leads to the road of life.(This word “narrow” here means cluttered with obstacles.) Jesus talked about this. Not everyone, that claims to belonging to the Son’s Kingdom, is on the narrow road either. An ultimate test is given for people who would like to know for themselves if they are traveling the straight path is in Matt. 7:21... these again the words of Jesus Himself. As Jesus did the Father’s will, so those who know Christ will also have God’s personal agenda.
Friday Delivers is mostly something for Parolees. Actually anyone may be a member of this neat opportunity. If you think you need this after you finish reading about Friday Delivers, sign up for it.
A Scenario Situation: You have found the Lord and you fear going back to old familiar paths of sin. The Lord by His Spirit and through His Word has been talking to you about being careful to faithfully follow Him. You do not trust yourself. You have been there and done that. Where can I find help? I do not know any one that is a faithful Christian, much less someone that would help me get started on a productive path in fulfilling God’s will. I know Colossians 3:1 and the verses after that, these mandates I long to fulfill. “What shall I do Lord?” This is your prayer.
